THE JUBLIANCE OF SUMMER-TIME

Our region in western New York is a very special place! With its magnificent rolling hills, expansive beautiful valleys, and majestic lake plains....our area stands out as a wonderland of nature. With our four seasons of the year, there is something very special about our region… be it summer, fall, winter and spring. And now, we are enjoying that bountifully flourishing season we call summer. The following poem- which I have written- sets the line-up for the summer-time parade with it's cadence, precision, jubilance, and pageantry ...figuratively speaking, of course... for the wonderfully colorful atmosphere of the season we call "Summer."

THE SUMMER-TIME PARADE

The skies are brightly shinning
Summer-time is presently here,
With the awakening of the season
Nature's bursting with bountiful cheer.

The sun is at its highest
Longer days have made the grade,
The season’s warmth is truly welcoming
The summer-time parade.

The trees have taken notice
With their foliage all arrayed,
To mark this special season
Colorfully dressed for the summer-time parade.

The trees have taken notice
With their foliage all arrayed,
To mark this special season
Colorfully dressed for the summer-time parade.

The summer flowers received the message
Wherever they are... there does appear,
Gorgeous geraniums and blooming petunias
Marching with their colorful bountiful cheer.

The hay fields and summer meadows
Have also taken note,
That they too, in summer-like fashion
Are putting on their harvesting coat.

The farmers’ fields are all productive
After plowshares had turned the ground,
And they are in the growing season
For summer’s harvest to abound.

All of nature is truly excited
For the summer-time parade will now begin,
With nature’s pride and crowning glory
A blue ribbon...it is sure to win!
